Shirley B. Gordon Academic Achievement Award
The Shirley B. Gordon Award for Academic Excellence honors an outstanding Highline student, graduating with an AA, AS or AAS degree, during the 2011-2012 school year. The intent of this award is to recognize a graduating student who has benefited from the community college experience and has achieved high academic excellence.
Students must have a minimum 3.5 GPA, clear educational goals, demonstrated service to the college and/or the community in the past three years, and a faculty sponsor who will support the applicant with a letter of recommendation. Other supporting letters of recommendation are encouraged in this competition for Highline’s highest academic honor. Candidates may be asked to explain orally, but definitely in writing what a community college education means/has meant to them.

Highline Community College Foundation is an organization of community members dedicated to raising funds that help provide quality education at Highline Community College.
Foundation board members strengthen the relationship between the College & the community, developing resources for students, programs, faculty, & capital projects.
The Highline Community College Foundation is a not-for-profit 501c(3) organization. Contributions following IRS guidelines are tax deductible. The Foundation works to support the educational efforts of Highline Community College through scholarships, emergency need awards and special projects.
